Some of the common questions with online therapy:
A clinician will connect with you online to have sessions either through your phone or computer.
First a clinician will give you a call and get acquainted with your therapy needs and what your goals are for therapy. During this time clinician will determine during first assessment/ intake if they appropriate for you according to your symptoms, mental health history and current life impairments. Also, it must be noted: if at any time during therapy sessions your symptoms increase and become more severe, it is possible that I will ask that you start coming into the office or refer you to someone closer (if you live out of the area). If I feel that it is best for you to see a therapist nearer to you (if you live out of area) I will do my best to connect you with resources in your area.
Let’s keep it private! So… it is a requirement that you are in a quiet place, with minimal noise, good WIFI connection in order to keep our time together confidential and productive, so that you can get the most from your sessions.
It is a convenient option for clients that have a difficult schedule or have childcare issues (nap time is best time for sessions) or transportation issues. Therapist is limited to having session when client in is the state of CA due to license restrictions.
